Serving the Uptown area since 1995, Uptown Bar and Grill has managed to strike a nice balance between neighborhood pub n' grub and full-on sports bar. With plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, the place can accommodate a very large crowd, which it does most nights of the week. The bar also features half a dozen flat screens for whichever "big game" is on, and very popular karaoke nights that fill up fast, so it can get loud inside. But if it's too loud inside for a conversation, then the fountain-side patio out back is as close to a New Orleans-style oasis as you're likely to find in Dallas that's not at a Big Easy-themed establishment. The kitchen's open "all day" from 11a.m. to 2 a.m., offering a full menu with daily specials like half-price burgers after 5 p.m. on Mondays and happy hour prices all day on Wednesdays. The burgers are popular among the regulars and they've been increasingly on the radar as some of the best in town.
